What a wonderful weekend! The amazing thing about it is that I actually worked most of my free time and I still feel that way! I was behind on so many things after being on vacation for that beautiful celebration cruise. It was necessary to put in some extra time at work to catch up, which left less time at home. Last weekend was spent taking care of preparations for a church event, so house cleaning and computer projects desperately needed my attention.
After working so hard and feeling so good about it, I was reminded of something I read in Steve Chandler’s book, 100 Ways to Motivate Others. He says to “coach people to complete” because “having incomplete items drains energy.” I truly feel energized when I accomplish things that I have put off doing. Even when there is a good reason that it isn’t done, knowing so much is waiting for me to do brings me down. The feeling of accomplishment is very rewarding.
So, if you feel loaded down with too much to do, try choosing one of your many projects and completing it. You may be surprised at the energy you will have to tackle the next task.
