It is Thanksgiving morning and I am sitting in my music room, my special place to spend time with my Lord, recounting the many blessings I am so grateful for today. I am most grateful for God and that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die so that I can have new life and the opportunity to live life to the fullest. Today I sit here healthy, in a warm and cozy home with a casserole in the oven, preparing to go spend the day with my wonderful family. We even have a new member of the household this year, Miss Barklee, the rat terrier mix we adopted a few weeks ago.
I am thankful for this moment, this time that I can reflect on my life and the accomplishments God has enabled me to achieve. I received an e-mail this week with an article by Chris Osborn. He states, “When we give thanks, we cease the commotion of daily life, of seasonal craze and life mapping and instead recognize what we have now . . . today.” He also included this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson: “For each new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night, For health and food, for love and friends, For everything Thy goodness sends.”
“O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endures forever.” Psalm 107:1
