It is that time of year. The fresh start of the new year begins in just two days! When you look back at where you were at the beginning of 2011 and then where you are today, are you pleased with the accomplishments of the year? Did you follow through with the new year’s resolutions you chose for yourself? Are you closer now to seeing your lifelong dreams come true? If not, why not?

While it is admirable to decide to make changes, it does no good unless we actually make them. I believe that true goal setting brings better results than just deciding to do something. Goals include expected completion dates, which motivate us to complete.

I challenge you to set goals for 2012, in writing, as follows:

1. Determine at least two goals you would like to achieve before the end of the year 2012 in each of these areas of your life: spiritual, personal, employment, financial.

2. Break each goal down into short-term goals with specific dates of expected completion throughout the year.

3. Review the list at least once per month to ensure you are on target.

Follow through and find yourself feeling good about your accomplishments this time next year.
