I received a sad e-mail this morning informing me that Zig Ziglar passed away. Although I never met him personally, he greatly impacted my life. I was privileged to see him speak in person several years ago. I have not been the same since that day. I was ready to go out and do great things when I left the civic center after hearing him. But it would have ended soon after if I had not begun to follow his advice. A friend gave me one of his books on CD, which I enjoyed thoroughly. I wanted to hear more. I subscribed to his e-newsletter and enrolled in what he calls the Automobile University. I listened to books on CD while driving to and from work.
I can honestly say that the works of Zig Ziglar changed my life. There is no doubt that many thousands of other people can say the same. What a tremendous legacy to leave. His works will continue to motivate people for years to come. It is sad to lose such great men as Zig Ziglar and not long ago, Stephen Covey, author of Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. But what a joy comes from studying and experiencing their great teachings.
Have you considered what kind of legacy you will leave behind? What are you doing today that will impact people after you leave this life?
