It’s Valentine’s Day – the season for love. What is love? The Bible says in I John 4:8 that “God is Love.” He showed His love for us by sending His only begotten Son to die that we may have eternal life. We show our love for God by living His love forward to others. We aren’t required to die for others, but to give up some of our time, desires and money in order to show our love for them.

There are many kinds of love. Romantic love, parental love, love for our family, love for friends, love for the unfortunate and needy. Loving and being loved is such a treasure. As humans, we were not created to keep to ourselves and do only what we want. According to the Bible in what is known as the love chapter, I Corinthians 13, love is longsuffering, selfless and kind.
