I had a conversation recently with a coworker about how relationships are what is most important in life. She had received a call the previous evening from a 42 year old friend who was diagnosed with a terminal illness. This friend has spent most of his time focused on education and work and doesn’t have many close relationships. Hearing of those kinds of situations really helps to put things in perspective.
I am all about working hard and accomplishing great things, but it is so very important to balance that with other interests. I seem to stay so busy, always having something that needs to be done. I have not taken the time to attend the annual Alabama Ladies Retreat in years until last weekend. I am so glad that I went. It is good to reunite with friends and share and spend time together. I really enjoy facebook because it allows me to know what is happening in the lives of other people. But there is nothing like a hug or a handshake and a face-to-face conversation.
Are you taking the time to enjoy the people in your life so that you will be able to live! . . . life to the fullest?
