Music NotesI have been watching a video study by Jen Hatmaker in which she discussed an interesting concept. She shared how we often feel insignificant and that the small things we do don’t really matter. The truth is that it takes each one of us acting in our own gifts to produce the whole song.

The Bible speaks about how the Body of Christ, the Church, is made up of different parts. The hand has its own purpose, which is different from that of the eye or the brain. However, it takes all the parts working together to produce the desired result.

Just as this is true in our physical bodies and in the Body of Christ, it is true in the world as a whole. We are each created with a specific purpose to fulfill in this life. If we don’t fulfill our purpose, it can prevent others from fulfilling theirs.

I love music, so Jen’s analogy really struck a chord with me. If you are like me and took piano lessons as a child you will recall those beginner songs when you played just one note at a time. Mary Had a Little Lamb sounded good then playing the one note of melody only. However, a song is much more beautiful and enjoyable to listen to when a trained pianist plays all the notes and even enhances beyond that as he is inspired.

We as individuals are created to play or sing our one note according to our gifts and abilities. If you don’t contribute your one note, the song will not be the beautiful rendition it was intended to be.

Are you singing your one note, so that the world can enjoy the beauty of the whole song? If not, begin today so we can all live . . . life to the fullest.
