Picture1Luck is something I really don’t believe in – unless it is defined as I heard in a podcast recently.

A listener’s response to the question, “Why do the rich get richer?,” was that they are lucky. But then he went on to define the lucky person.

The “lucky” person is prepared. This person has planned ahead, read, studied and prepared himself to do what he is called and has the strengths to do. Just sitting around and hoping to “win the lottery” is not what the “lucky” person does!

The “lucky” person is equipped with the proper attitude. You get what you expect! I love the quote by Henry Ford that says, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.” If you believe you can do something, and expect it, you will begin to move toward it. You must maintain the positive, expectant attitude in order to win.

The “lucky” person is ready when presented with the opportunity. John Wooden said, “When opportunity comes, it’s too late to prepare.” If you want to be successful you must have done the work and stay ready for the big break you desire.

The “lucky” person takes action. And the action doesn’t begin when the opportunity presents itself. It begins when the dream is planted in your heart. Taking one step at a time in the direction of your dream leads you to fulfillment.

So, are you one of those “lucky” people others notice? If not, I encourage you to begin preparing today so that you can live . . . life to the fullest.
