Without-Continual-Growth-780x409Some people seem to function best taking each day as it comes along, but I am not one of those people. I like to be prepared ahead of time so I can be more comfortable. I am a natural planner. I am using the Jesus Calling devotional this year and several of the recent devotions talked about being free of planning. I was actually perplexed by that because I see planning ahead as a positive thing. Could it be that planning is what keeps me comfortable and I don’t always need to be comfortable?

I recently listened to a podcast by Michael Hyatt in which he talked about how we must be outside our comfort zone to grow. Maybe being outside my comfort zone isn’t always doing the big things I feel stretch me, but living differently day to day. Maybe I need to learn to function in settings where I don’t feel prepared. That is when I must lean more on God. That is what the devotions meant. I get it. I am learning and growing and it feels good!

What new insight have you gained into yourself lately? I encourage you to be open to new ways of thinking so you can live . . . life to the fullest.
