This picture is the inspiration for my post this week. This is such a powerful quotation!
Worry is one of the most useless activities in which we participate. First of all, it does absolutely no good. Worry doesn’t fix whatever we are worrying about. In fact, it does the opposite. It can make things worse because the more we dwell on negative things that could happen, the worse we feel. We tend to act based on our feelings, so life seems to spiral downward. Why not just do what the Bible says in Philippians 4:6, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Worrying doesn’t fix things, but God does! So the next time you feel like worrying, pray instead.
Complaining not only brings us down, but also affects anyone who hears our complaints. Why not develop an attitude of gratitude instead? After choosing to look for the positive instead of the negative, we actually begin to experience more good than bad. We tend to find what we look for. We can change our life just by looking for and seeing the good.
Perseverance is critical to living a successful life. Life gets tough sometimes and we get tired and wonder if there is any reason to continue on. There is always reason to keep moving forward. There may need to be some adjustments, or even detours, occasionally but we must keep going.
It’s our choice – worry or pray; complain or be grateful; quit or persevere. I encourage you to make the positive choice so you can continue to live . . . life to the fullest.
