No one wants to make mistakes, but the truth is the mistakes that come from trying something new serve a good purpose. It shows courage to take action. This type error is not a complete loss. We can learn from it and grow in a way that will help us try more new things.
Peter Drucker, well-known management consultant and author, said, “The better a man is, the more mistakes he will make, for the more new things he will try. I would never promote into a top-level job a man who was not making mistakes . . . otherwise he is sure to be mediocre.”
And who wants to be mediocre? I don’t know about you, but I have not run into anyone who is striving for mediocrity. Although we may not set that goal, that is exactly where we end up when we don’t push ourselves to be our very best.
Fear of failure prevents forward movement and progress. We must be willing to take risks in order to grow and become more than we are.
Let go of your pride and your need to be right so you can grow and become all you can be. That is when you begin to live . . . life to the fullest.
