Lord Nelson was a famous naval hero in England.  He commanded troops from 1778 – 1805 and was known for his strategy and leadership.  Many naval victories were won under his command.   What most people don’t know about him is that he suffered from seasickness his entire life.

Clearly, Lord Nelson did not allow this little detail to hinder his career.  He learned to deal with this weakness and obviously conquered it.

We all have our weaknesses.  You know, that thing that we don’t want anyone else to know, so we have learned to compensate for it so we can keep it hidden.  It could be something physical or it may be emotional.  It could even be just a thought in our mind that has no truth in it.  But, when we believe it to be true, it has the same effect on our life.  It is big enough that if we allowed it to, it could prevent us from being the person we want to be.

What is that thing for you? Are you letting it defeat you?  Or, are you fighting the private, internal war to overcome it?  You may be the only person who knows about the war within you, but when you fight each battle as it shows up, you will have the personal satisfaction of knowing you didn’t surrender.

Don’t allow a difficulty to limit you.  Attack it head-on so you can live . . . your life to the fullest.
