Have you heard the story of a person who was literally in prison for breaking the law?  This person counted down the years, months, weeks, days, hours until his release.  When that day finally came, his dream of stepping out into the world of freedom came true.  What a wonderful day for him!  Or was it?

As he stood there facing freedom he felt overwhelmed.  With that liberty came responsibility.  Now he must provide for himself.  Employment.  A place to live.  Food to eat.  Transportation.  Fitting into present-day society would be different than it was 8 years ago.

Suddenly the security of prison felt pretty good to him.  There he was provided food and shelter.  He knew what to expect each day.  Unfortunately, the fear of change overtook his desire for freedom and he chose to return to the familiar.

This story would most likely not end this way because a prisoner would not be given the option to stay.  But what about your story?

What is the dream deep within you that you want to live?  Are you actually counting down the days . . . or is your expected time of achievement some day?  A new job that would bring the fulfillment you are lacking.  Creating your own business because the passion is burning inside you.  Starting a ministry that helps others who are in need.  Adopting a child who needs a home.

Freedom comes to those who are willing to walk away from the prison of sameness.  Identify your dream.  Create a plan.  Set your goal date.  Walk into your freedom so you can live . . . your life to the fullest.
