Making a promise to someone can be a very good thing . . .
It is a good thing – if you keep it. It is not a good thing, however, if you make a promise and do not keep it.
Have you ever had someone make a promise to you and then not keep it? How did you feel? Did it increase your confidence in that person? Did it change the way you felt about them? What did you think the next time they promised you something?
Exactly! If there is the slightest doubt that you will be able to follow through, then it is best not to make the promise.
The person most respected by others is the one who not only keeps his promises, but even delivers more than he promised.
Make good on your promises and you will be better able to live . . . your life to the fullest.
