A self-made man is the successful person who has pulled himself up by his bootstraps and worked his way into a high-level position.  Right?  Well . . .

Is anyone truly self-made?  Is it even possible for a person to will his way through the obstacles of life and become great – all by himself?

Some people have the determination and drive to push forward.  These are necessary characteristics of the successful person, along with many others.  Consistency, focus, integrity.

But is that enough?  The answer is “no.”

Who I am today is the result of the experiences of my life – good and bad.  Many people have spoken truth and encouragement to me which helped me grow.  Friends, mentors, teachers, leaders, even strangers, have done kind deeds and taught me throughout my life.

We are all the accumulation of our life.  Yes, making right choices and living with intention and purpose are involved in the life of a successful person.  But so are the contributions of others.

Appreciate the life you have experienced and then live . . . your life to the fullest.
