The choice doesn’t necessarily have to be “sick.” There is another option.
We tend to think we are either healthy or unhealthy. It is incorrect, however, to assume that as long as we are not sick, that we are healthy. There is a very important place in between.
A person who is sick has been diagnosed with a specific disease or condition that requires treatment. This may range from high blood pressure to heart conditions to cancer to diabetes. There are many other possibilities for sickness.
The absence of such a diagnosis does not imply health. Health is being in a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being.
What is in between sick and healthy? The person who is not sick and is not healthy is either moving toward sickness or moving toward health.
Now who would ever choose sickness? I don’t believe people intentionally choose that path. But, the person who does not intentionally choose to move toward health makes this decision by default.
Make those healthy choices. Eat food that gives you proper nutrition. Get enough sleep. Keep your body hydrated. Move more.
Choose health so you can live . . . your life to the fullest.
