I have been feeling a bit blah lately and attributed it to the holiday activities that impede the usual structure of life. I love the holidays, but structure is important to me and I get off track without it.
However, last week I discovered the real issue. Due to a brief upper respiratory infection and scheduling conflicts (and let’s be honest – some days just choosing not to), I had not been to the gym for awhile. Last Friday I worked out for the first time in about two weeks. Before I even finished my workout, I recognized how energized I felt. That was it!
Not working out, for whatever reason, affects the way I feel physically. In addition, going to the gym is a habit. Breaking that habit encourages me to break other positive habits as well.
Good habits are vital to success and happiness. Those things that we make sure to do every day, or as scheduled, are what add up to progress. Whether it is as basic as brushing your teeth, which improves dental health, or as aggressive as putting in two hours per day of effort on your side business. Commitment to predetermined behaviors brings desired results.
Commit to those positive habits and you can live . . . your life to the fullest.
