You get up early each morning, get ready and go to work. This is what happens day after day, week after week, year after year. Why?
Your first thought is probably “to make money so I can live and support my family.” You might think, “that’s just life.” Or, you may be that person who is insightful enough to recognize the importance of having something meaningful to do and contributing to a greater cause.
Whether your career is fulfilling a lifelong dream, or you are working a job simply because you “have to,” you can enjoy the benefits. People often think how great it will be when they can retire and do anything they want. It is great – as long as you are still involved in activities that allow you to fulfill your purpose.
Working hard in a fulfilling career does usually result in financial stability and freedom to do the things we enjoy. However, that is not the greatest benefit. John Ruskin stated, “The highest reward for man’s toil is not what he gets for it, but what he becomes by it.”
You see, when you have completed your successful career and choose to retire, you have so much to offer. Pouring yourself into your work for all those years gives you experience, both business and life. This experience can be invaluable to others.
You are becoming an incredible person. Share with others so you can live . . . your life to the fullest.
