What a time we are experiencing right now! Most everyone is dealing with change, but it looks different for each one of us. As it says in a facebook post that has been circulating recently, we are all in this together, but we are not in the same boat.
Some people are working harder and longer hours than usual and making extra money. Others have been laid off either temporarily or permanently and are receiving, or trying to receive, unemployment payments. Larger businesses have employees primarily working from home a few hours per week and still receiving full pay. Some of those are spending the extra hours working their second job and using this opportunity to pay off debt. Then there are those who have seen no change in their work hours – they are just wearing a mask when they work.
I know of someone who is just chilling at home and perfectly content. I know of others who are struggling with being at home most of the time. Those who are watching too much of the news on television are becoming depressed. Some people are worrying how they are going to feed their families, while others are doing well financially.
What are we to do?
I say, it’s Springtime, so bloom where you are planted!
If you are working more than usual and make your regular salary or more, look for the opportunity to help someone else who is in need. If you are miserable at home, find something you can do to ease the load of those who are working hard. Make face masks, mow their lawn, send a note of encouragement.
Make a positive difference in the life of someone else and you will find yourself living . . .life to the fullest.
