The story is told of a man who could not find his favorite saw. He immediately thought of his neighbor’s son who enjoyed woodworking. He must have taken the saw. The man noticed many suspicious activities during the next week. Just the way the young man walked, talked and moved caused concern.
Then something interesting happened. The man found his saw behind the workbench in his own garage. He must have accidentally shoved it back there himself. The remarkable thing is that the man never saw any more suspicious activity from his neighbor’s son.
Isn’t it just amazing how easily we can convince ourselves of something – whether or not it is true! Jumping to conclusions with a simple thought and then making it truth in our own mind. Acting on such a truth has often resulted in much pain.
This story is a reminder of the importance of what we allow ourselves to think. When a thought crosses your mind, question and evaluate it before allowing it to remain.
Take a good look at your thoughts so you can live . . . your life to the fullest.
