Fulfilling our purpose in life often comes through our occupation. What we do for work is very important. Whether it is a job which pays a salary in dollars, or one in which we are paid in love and appreciation for taking care of our family. It is critical to our satisfaction in life. But what about what we do during our non-working hours?
Some people find it difficult to even have non-working hours. That could become an issue over time. We were made to experience times of leisure and rest. The body doesn’t function properly without the required hours of sleep. It is just as important that our body and mind receive proper nutrition – food and activity. For the body that is what we eat and the physical movement we experience. For the mind that is positive, uplifting and educational information read or listened to, and then the action of putting that information into effect.
Then there are the times for play. Doing something just for the fun of it. That may sound wasteful of precious time to some people, but it is so very needful.
We need to be a well-rounded person. Working all the time is not good for us. Neither is playing all the time. Having a balance of work, rest and leisure makes for a happy person.
I don’t know about you, but a happy person is what I want to be. That is when I can live . . . life to the fullest.
