You notice there are three exclamation points following this title. That is because I am feeling triply free!
This is the season when we are celebrating the freedom of our country. Independence Day. The 4th of July. I’m grateful for the people who fought for the freedom we have. I am so thankful to live in a country where I can go where I want to go. I can do what I want to do. I am free to worship as I please and gather with other believers to share and worship together.
That leads to the primary reason that I feel free. Jesus set me free when He came to earth to fulfill God’s plan by living, dying and rising again. Surrendering my life to God is the most freeing feeling ever!
The third freedom I celebrate is the difference in life today from life over the past 15 months. We experienced a time of missing a lot of the freedoms we took for granted in the past. Many people suffered a lot during this time and I am in no way minimizing that. But now as I freely leave my home and walk into a store or restaurant without wearing a mask, I feel a new appreciation for that opportunity.
Celebrate freedom. That is when you can live . . . your life to the fullest.
