Which is better – worry or work? Let’s explore the pros and cons of each.
WORRY:
Pros: (1) You can sit quietly and do it or you can pace and do it. The choice is yours. (2) It often comes naturally, so no preparation time is required. (3) There is no time requirement. It can last as long as you want.
Cons: (1) It achieves absolutely nothing. (2) It brings your attitude and mood down instantaneously. (3) If you do it long enough, it will make you sick.
WORK:
Pros: (1) If done in an employment setting, it pays the bills. (2) If done consistently and properly, many goals will be achieved. (3) The feeling of achievement makes you feel good about yourself and enables you to have a positive attitude.
Cons: (1) If your work is done sitting in an office, you will need to add exercise sessions later in the day. (2) If your work is physical, you will need to add rest and leisure times later in the day. (3) Although there may be a time minimum, there is often no time maximum. Working too much could negatively affect other areas of your life and relationships.
I ran across this very fitting quotation from John Lubbock: “A day of worry is more exhausting than a week of work.”
So with all of this information, which will you choose? Worry or Work?
I sure hope you will choose the one that helps you to live . . . your life to the fullest.
