Courage is defined as the ability to control your fear in a dangerous or difficult situation; the quality shown by someone who decides to do something difficult or dangerous, even though they may be afraid; the ability to do things which one finds frightening. Why is courage necessary?
Because nothing worthwhile is achieved without it. We may face the day to day expectations with ease, but those things that really change our world don’t come quite as easily. The things that really matter usually come with some resistance. That is quite often due to fear. It could be fear of failure in general, or a more specific fear based on past experiences.
Courage is not the lack of fear. It is doing it afraid. It is having values and desires that are stronger than your fear.
Courage doesn’t just show up. It is intentionally sought, chosen and acted upon. It comes when doing what is right is worth the risk. It is also like a muscle. The more it is used, the stronger it becomes.
Find your courage, take action, and live . . . your life to the fullest.
