You want to do it, but why?

Why do you want to do that thing that you need to maintain motivation to do?

If that “thing” is on your job, then why do you want or need your job?  To make a living?  To advance?  To grow into what you want to become?

If you are trying to lose weight.  Why do you want to do that?  To be healthy and fit?  To look good at the upcoming school reunion?  To feel better about yourself as a person and present yourself in the most positive way?

I have a friend who had gastric bypass surgery and lost two thirds of her weight.  This was a person who was terrified of medical procedures.  She was able to do this and follow the plan because she wanted to be able to play with and do activities with her daughter who was very young at the time.  And to be alive to see her grow up.  She had a very big why and it worked for her.

Why is it important to know why?  Victor Frankl said, “When you know your why you can endure any how.”

Take the time to determine why you want to do it and then get started.  That is when you can live . . . your life to the fullest.
