I don’t know about you, but I find it challenging to keep my focus on business as usual this time of year. There is still work to be done, house to be kept and responsibilities to be handled. On the other hand, there is wonderful Christmas music, all those fun Christmas movies and of course, extra shopping! Parties, Christmas lunches, exchanging gifts with friends and programs at church. How can we possibility fit it all in?!
At the beginning of the season I found myself enjoying my work so much that it was hard to let go and get into the fun traditions of the season. I determined to continue with a work focus throughout the Christmas season while still enjoying the events of the season. That did not last long! You see, I love the thrill of this time of year and soon had given in. My schedule is full, but there is a distinct shift in priority.
Christmas comes only once a year and I want to celebrate and enjoy it! I’m giving myself a break from the usual day-to-day and choosing to enjoy the preparations and spending time with friends and family.
Give yourself a break this week! If circumstances won’t allow a physical break, you can always choose to focus your thoughts on what is important in this season. Celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Celebrate Christmas and live . . . your life to the fullest.
