The hustle and bustle of the Christmas season seems to come to an abrupt end after Christmas Day. We spend several weeks shopping, decorating, attending special programs and parties in celebration of the season. Then we enjoy the special day with family and friends and that’s it.
Here we are. The day after Christmas. The gifts have been opened and treasures shared. The wrapping paper is now gone and the leftovers have been eaten. We have been shopping one more day to look for those bargains so we have a head start on our decorations and wrapping paper next year.
Christmas is over. While it can feel a little sad that this most wonderful time of the year is past, I find that it is rather exciting. Now I can put away the decorations and get things back in place at home. My thoughts go immediately to what comes next.
What does come next? A whole new year! This wonderful gift of a new year begins in just a few days, so we must get busy preparing for it! How do we do that?
First, decide what you want your new year to look like. Envision it and write it down.
Next, make a list of what you need to do to make the year you envision come to pass.
And then, do it!
It’s that simple. Don’t feel sad that 2016 is coming to an end. Instead, get ready for the amazing 2017 that is almost here.
Make your list, check it twice and then live . . . your life to the fullest!
