I attended a WordPress conference last weekend. It was a great opportunity to learn more about how to improve my website and blog. I consider myself to be “technologically challenged.” I can often figure out how to do things, but it just does not come naturally to me. When I began to create my website, I soon discovered that it was much more involved than I expected. I even considered hiring someone to build it for me, although I really wanted to do it myself. However, as I began to watch other people maneuver on a computer, I started trying new things, too. By asking questions of a few people and playing around within WordPress (for many hours), I finally had an acceptable site. It felt good to be among others this weekend who were also learning. It was nice, too, to actually understand a lot of what was discussed (even though I was in the beginner class).
I know that the majority of those attending the conference could build a much more elaborate and impressive site than mine. But there is nothing like the feeling I have when I can tell people that I built my site myself; me, the technologically challenged one! This is just one example of many things I have accomplished that I at one time thought would not be possible.
What are the “impossible” dreams in your life? Let this be the year, the month, the day you take the first step toward accomplishing those dreams. Yes, you can!
