I want to make a difference in the world! Have you ever thought that?
Over the years I have sought out ways to make a difference. I remember purchasing a book many years ago to learn how. I’ve experimented with several volunteer opportunities. Activities through my church have been created for this purpose.
When it comes right down to it, the best way is to simply use what’s already in your hand. What are you good at? Are you an encourager who naturally inspires those around you with positivity? Is cooking what you enjoy? Maybe you like to learn so you can share information with people. Is writing your passion? Do you have a bright personality that makes people laugh? Organization is a trait that could be shared and really help those who struggle in this area.
It is great to join in with organizations that are already helping people. I love volunteering. However, I believe informal opportunities exist as well. Just keeping our eyes and ears open will enable us to find them. Doing something really big that requires a lot of time and finances is wonderful. But sometimes the simple smile or hug is what means the most.
The important thing is that we take action and do something! Make a difference during this Christmas season and beyond. That will help you to live . . . your life to the fullest.
