That feeling of desperation when life seems to require more than can possibly be done. Deadlines hovering. Too many balls in the air. Too many irons in the fire. Simply too much!
We’ve all been there.
How do we get out of that place?
First, make a list of the tasks at hand. Next, identify the one thing that is most urgent; possibly the one with the nearest deadline. Then, do that one thing.
I have learned that the best thing I can do for myself when I am in an overwhelmed state, is to complete something. The feeling of being able to mark one thing off the list brings momentum. As I continue to identify the most urgent item and complete it, the feeling of dread begins to lift.
Remaining in the state of overwhelm keeps us stuck, with spiraling mind and little or no action. Taking that first step forward makes all the difference.
Step forward so you can live . . . your life to the fullest.
