You have more on your to-do list than can possibly be done.  What now?

There are two things that I recommend.

First, chunk it.  Break the tasks down into small chunks and do one at a time.  Take that first step and the next one will be much easier.

Next, do one thing at a time.  Moving back and forth between one task and another delays completion of both.  This also postpones the satisfaction that comes from completing a task, which leads to decreased motivation.

The story is told of a farmer who went hunting with his dog.  When they returned, the dog just lay on the porch, totally worn out.  A friend asked the farmer what was wrong with the dog.  The farmer responded that it wasn’t the walking because they only covered ten miles.  However, the  dog had not missed a thing.  He went through every open gate and explored the whole field.  He chased every rabbit and cat he encountered.  He wore himself out barking at every dog that barked at him.  The farmer said the dog probably went fifty miles to his ten!  He proclaimed to his friend, that it wasn’t the route that got him – it was the zigzagging.

Are you focused on the task at hand with determination, or are you zigzagging?  Straighten your concentration and move forward.  That is how you can live . . . your life to the fullest.
