What is the last thing you would expect a naval officer to deal with? Seasickness. Yet England’s famous naval hero, Lord Nelson, suffered with it throughout his entire life. Obviously, this man who destroyed Napoleon’s fleet did not let it interfere with his career. He not only learned to live with this personal weakness, but he conquered it!
Whether we choose to admit it or not, most of us deal with our own little “seasickness.” It may be physical, emotional, psychological. It is different for all of us. Like Lord Nelson, we deal with it privately. We won’t be winning any public awards for coping with the situation, but you can rest assured much personal satisfaction comes from knowing we didn’t surrender to it.
Give yourself credit and recognize your private successes. That will help you live . . . your life to the fullest.
