The experience I had this morning really got me thinking about those unexpected interruptions and how to deal with them.
I discovered a YouTube video of soft piano meditation music and had it playing as I began my time of communion with my Heavenly Father. It brought such peace as I just shared with Him and reflected on His goodness. It was one of those special moments. But then it happened. The potential spam phone call. Talk about an unexpected and unwanted interruption!
Then I started thinking how similar that is to life in general. Things may be going smoothly, even quite enjoyably. Then something happens that totally changes everything. It may be as small as an inconvenient spill that makes a momentary mess, or as large as the loss of a job which affects the long term.
Whatever comes in life, our response is what makes the difference. This morning I just let the interruption pass and then continued my time with the Lord. However, things were different after the interruption. I had received this perspective to share with you. I was able to use what would be considered a bad situation and create something good from it. That is what God has told us He will do for us. While we can easily take care of cleaning up the mess from the spill on our own, the larger interruptions cause us to need to depend on God.
Those unexpected interruptions will come. That is what we call life. Look for the good in it so you can live . . . your life to the fullest.
