It is so easy to let little setbacks hinder the progress toward our goals. I visited with my next door neighbors recently. As I was sharing, I was reminded of my experiences this year. I began the year with goals to get things in place and really begin to share my passion and encourage more people to live their lives to the fullest. Just as I was making some headway, I experienced an illness that set me back quite a while. I was in the hospital for five days in early March on IV fluids and antibiotics to recover from a perforated appendix. After another month on antibiotics, I had surgery in mid-April to remove the appendix. During this physically difficult time, I found myself doubting my future and wondering if I really should go ahead and place that book order. What was I thinking anyway to even consider the possibility of speaking to groups and sharing the message I feel so strongly? Why would anyone want to listen to me?
But then I received an email from my neighbor giving me contact information to schedule my talk at the Bessemer Kiwanis Club meeting. He had invited me to speak when I shared with him that my e-book was available. I wanted to wait until the book was in print to speak, so the time had not been scheduled. The book printing process had taken much longer than I expected. What awesome timing! This was confirmation that it is time for me to move forward.
I am pleased to tell you that I am scheduled to speak to the Bessemer Kiwanis Club on July 25, 2012. This is quite a new experience for me, but it feels good to be stepping out of my comfort zone.
What is the next step you need to take to get out of your comfort zone and begin living your fullest life?
