Andy Andrews’ podcast was great this week. He included a quote by Patsy Clairmont, “God has created you with a will that is stronger than your emotions.” We have the ability to do the right thing even when we don’t feel like it. He gave as an example when a person is having an argument with someone and the phone rings and they stop arguing and answer the phone in a sweet voice. We can control our actions. Just like many things, it is a choice. We can choose to do the right thing . . . or not.

He also shared what I have heard him say before, that if Moses had stayed a little longer on the mountain he would have come back with 11 commandments. The 11th would be “Thou shalt not kid thyself.” Don’t we all do that? Let’s face the true facts. We are our own worst enemy! We tend to convince ourselves that we are OK, we are doing our best. But when we step back and take an honest look, are we really?

I challenge you today to ask yourself, “Am I kidding . . . .”
