How often do you take a break from your regular routine? It is vitally important to our personal wellbeing to alter our activities. Whether it is a two week vacation or a ten minute walk, it makes a huge difference.
I allowed myself a break recently and have enjoyed the positive impact on my life. I had a 10-day vacation and traveled out west. Going places I had not been and seeing sites I had not seen was a wonderful experience. Just the awe of change was tremendous! I had such a wonderful trip and enjoyed it greatly.
However, it was not until I returned home and started shifting back into more “normal” activities, that I realized just how good I felt. I knew that I had completely relaxed and let go of responsibilities. I have been on many vacations and not returned feeling this way. It is easy to leave town and take our issues with us. While it is good to get away, it is only when we allow ourselves to emotionally disengage as well that we benefit the most.
