In Arizona God chose to landscape in yet a different way. There aren’t many big trees and green grass like here in Alabama, but it isn’t so flat and desolate as we saw in New Mexico either. I can’t imagine a place any more beautiful than Sedona, Arizona. I had such an amazing experience on the drive there. We were driving the highway from Flagstaff to Sedona in anticipation of the beauty of the red rock mountains in Sedona. We knew how many miles we needed to drive to reach our destination of this tourist town. We were just driving along on this two-lane highway and as we rounded a curve we were just completely awestruck and amazed by what we saw. It came so suddenly and unexpected. Beautiful red rock mountains and valleys with sun reflecting on them in various ways. The roads curved around the mountain as we looked from side to side, mouths dropped open in near disbelief that such beauty was in front of us. It brought tears to my eyes to experience this surreal event.

I could only think of the majesty of God Almighty, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. We were so surprised by this unexpected experience, but God knew it was there. Isn’t that just like our Heavenly Father! We are just living along, day by day, and not paying a lot of attention when suddenly and unexpected, there it is – an indescribable, beautiful blessing from God! It may be one that we prayed for or hoped for or even expected, later, but here it was – right now. And, it was breathtaking and more amazing than we could ever have imagined. That is because God created it . . . for me . . . so I could experience His favor.

We can live this life with the knowledge that our Heavenly Father knows what lies ahead. He has a plan for each of us and directs us day by day in the way to walk. Whatever your path may look like today, God knows what is ahead . . .
