Ken Blanchard shared from a book he read in which the author told of playing monopoly with his grandmother. He was so excited the first time he won. His grandmother used this as a teaching tool and told him that “it always goes back in the box.” Life always goes back in the box; possessions, accumulations. We don’t need to focus on things, but on people and relationships.

The host of the podcast I was listening to asked Mr. Blanchard how he stayed positive. He said that he looks forward to each new day because you never know what you might learn. You don’t know what each day holds. He advises people to set goals, but to keep their head up and be aware of opportunities that might not be on their goals list. He shared that he has been on a health kick for a couple years because if he is going to live to be 95 or 100 he wants to be able to “move and groove!” I love this quote from him: “Life to me is a very, very special occasion and I don’t want to miss it.”

What a powerful, inspiring interview! I choose to treasure life so I can live . . . life to the fullest!
