The Matthew West song, “Do Something,” is having such a powerful impact on me. I am so stirred to make the necessary changes so that I can help people who are in need, as well as encourage others to do the same. That is what I am on this earth to do. I have a purpose and I want to fulfill it!

This song talks about all the trouble in the world and how the writer turns to Heaven with the question, “God, why don’t You do something?” I am so blown away by the next line. God replies, “I did, I created you.” Wow! It is so easy to just look around at what is wrong and then pass it off by thinking it is not my responsibility, and waiting for someone else to make it better.

We must change that mentality! As Andy Andrews says in his book, The Traveler’s Gift, we must realize that the buck stops here – with me. I must do something. It is up to me. Matthew West’s song continues by saying, “If not us, then who; If not me and you? If not now, then when?”

I want to be a doer. How about you? What are you going to do this week to positively impact your world?
