I was impressed with this topic last week when I heard in a sermon some intriguing definitions of the word “living.” These included active, thriving, and vigorous. Being alive means having breath in your body. However, I have known many people who are living, breathing beings, yet active, thriving and vigorous were not accurate descriptors of them.
The person who is truly living is active. They know who they are and are purposely setting and pursuing goals to fulfill their life plan. The person who is truly living is thriving. They are successful, flourishing and growing because they want to be. The person who is truly living is vigorous. They are energetic, strong and enthusiastic because the actions and behaviors they choose make them that way.
Which one describes you: alive (breathing) or truly living (active, thriving and vigorous)?
I choose the latter. It is definitely more fun to be truly living! If you can’t honestly say that describes you, then I challenge you today to take the first step in that direction. Take action and then you, too, can live . . . life to the fullest!
