There is a story from ancient times of a king.  This king had a large boulder placed in the road and then hid to watch what happened.  He watched as some of the kingdom’s biggest businessmen just walked around the boulder.  Some of them even complained that the king was not keeping the roads clear.

Then something interesting happened.  A poor farmer came along carrying a large bundle of vegetables.  When he saw the boulder, he put down his load and proceeded to try to move the rock.  He pushed and strained and finally was able to move it out of the road.

The farmer was picking up his vegetables when he noticed a purse lying where the boulder had been in the road.  In the purse were several gold pieces along with a note from the king stating that the gold was for the person who moved the boulder.

The moral of the story?  Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve.

Don’t avoid the difficulties.  Fulfillment comes from doing the tough things well.  Learn this lesson for yourself and you can live . . . your life to the fullest.
